Man asome that was my idea for a long time to put a LT or LS1 in a Z3 Coupe but they are just to expensive for ones with blown engines in germany.

Thats the only BMW that can hang with those F-bodys

-custom motor mounts ($)
-custom transmission crossmember ($)
-custom headers ($$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$)
-custom work done to reinforce trunkfloor/subframe area ($$$)
-brake pedal modification to work with hydroboost unit ($)
-custom radiator($$)

Those are all the major custom pieces, there were a lot of little brackets made for this/that as I went along. But the above list is basically it.

JoeZ givin props...

Cool install man, very cool. Did Mike @ Nash scratch build those headers for your Z3 or are they modified/unmodified headers from his E36 kit?

There is so much money tied up in custom headers on a kit like this, at least until you make enough of them to get a production shop to build them. We're trying to find a more cost effective solution for our "kit".

Vorshlag is now working on our second E36 LS1 car now, which will be a dedicated race car (XP3). 2400 pound 325is, lots of tire. Mmmm... We also make a design, build and sell a lot of BMW suspension components.

These are the same headers he used with the e36 kits he used to sell. Awesome design, I was able to bolt up the mounts + headers then just slide everything (motor/trans) in as 1 unit.

Default Parts list/sources for swap

JoeZ,
Can you give us a list of parts/sources for doing this swap? Would also be interested in what the cost of this swap is running.
