Default Carbed 5.3, 6.0 68 Firebird

I am investigating putting a carbed 5.3, 6.0 in a 68 Firebird. My reasons for carb is as follows: About the same $ but less time, less risk, and I like the looks. Was wanting to use the Edelbrock 7118 (performer rpm/MSD box) and the 700r4 already in my Firebird. I would use the homemade flat adapter plates. My questions are:

1) Will the setup with a holley fit under the stock hood? If it doesn't, will the truck style injection setup fit?

2) Will I just need a new or modded oil pan or will I need all new baffles, oil pump, pickups, etc.?

Thanks. Great forum. I have digested a lot already.

Default

the truck oil pan will fit, but will hang low. a modded car pan is the way to go, AFAIK.
using a drop base air cleaner on a holley carb, mine sits about an 1" higher in the car with the same carb and air cleaner setup.
