Default Oil temp sensor location/adapter

I'm in the process of fitting my Autometer senders in my LS1 and I'm having trouble finding a spot for the oil temp sender. I was thinking of just putting in the drain plug, but I can't find an 1/8" NPT to 12 x 1.75 adapter. Only other spot would be the pan itself. Are you guys drilling and tapping the oil pan or modifying the drain plug somehow? Thanks!

Are you already using the plate above the oil filter for something. This is where the corvettes had their's and where a lot of people drill and tap for oil pressure.

LS1 fierro? LOL wow. Crazy swap man!

What about on the back of the block where the pressure sensor is, put a T in there and run both.

I was thinking that. I have to run the intake backwards though, so I have to do some plumbing for the oil pressure sensor anyways.

Are you using the oil level sending unit in the pan? If not that could be another possible location. I don`t know what size it is though.

Does the PCM use the oil level sensor as an input? As long as the sensor bung isn't too high, it might work.

The oil level sensor just triggers the light in the dash, the PCM doesn't care what the level is....

If so, that would be perfect as long as it is low enough in the oil pan. Thanks!

Well, since it's there to sense when there's enough oil in the pan, it should be submerged at all times. I'd say that's as good a place as any.
