there is one that has a nissan vk56de so i'm pretty sure an ls1 would fit also. it probably fits better b/c that engine has some pretty big heads.

:/ why not stick to the vq35 and just sc or TT it. not that im saying dont do it, but its just not something i would recommend. hell why not the titan motor? Forsberg did it to his if iirc and those make more power stock than an ls1 iirc.

The availability of parts, reliability and cost to modify an ls1 is better than the nissan motor. Besides that its something unique and original which is worth a lot.

I love 350Zs, and I love LS1s, hell I even love the combination, but I'd swap in a nissan V8. I'm not sure how large the aftermarket is, but the 5.6 and even 4.5 put out great numbers. And you won't get weird looks from people. Nissan actually makes good engines, I would never buy an RX-7 to put another mazda engine in there.

BTW, RX7 example was just an example, not an attack so dont take it the wrong way.

I would love to see an LSx in a 350Z. The only thing good about the Nissan six is the sound they make. Other than that I'd yank it out. As far as the Nissan V8, not interested. LSX is the better choice.

the vq kinda sucks for any real power.

the vk56 forseberg is using is a real chore to fit, as stated its a huuuuuuuuuge motor. its also an iron block. iron block + big heavy heads = meh. but his car is still pretty badass, and it sounds bitchin.

ls1 is much more compact than both imo.

lighter than both somehow

tranny is better

350z28 would be hot hot hot. please do it. or someone send me a bunch of money and ill do it for next years formula d car.

it would be a nice combination, big beefy power in that fat-stanced coupe.
if the nissan v8 fits then the LS1 will have room for nice headers and plenty of room for maintenance. and while a TTv6350z is a nice powerful setup its huge money and probably similar time/effort as an LS1 swap and I'd rather have all motor powaah under the hood. in fact you can sell off the stock motor for pretty good money I'd bet.

now someone send mikespeed a lot fo money so he can build it!

The RB26 has been installed in a 350Z, so you shouldn't have a problem fitting an LS1.

i see this swap more common in a few yrs, when the price of the lsx
comes down even further ,and the 350z boys stop bullshittin' and get tired of gettin dragged around by the lsx swap cars, like the 240's and rx7's
it will only be a matter of time when the lsx will be the MUST have engine
with 2000+hp capable blocks and heads flowing over 330 cfm out of the box
as cast, and 250+ duration hydraulic cams and internal parts dropping in price
500-600 rwhp N/A will be the norm

Hey no fair stealing my idea . I wanted to put an LS motor in the Z because I can fit in it better than the C6 Z06 . Only right now I cannot afford to buy a new or used Z.

350z love n2o also. ours is running mid 11's on a 200 wet shot and 275/60/15 m/t drag radials. all stock other then that. that cars hooks crazy good. 1.4 60 ft spraying a 125 wet out of the whole.

the twin cam V6 is much wider than the LS1. there is pleanty of room up front for 2 extra cyls. problem with the 350Z is that they are way overpriced. you can have a better car (FC/FD, Fbody, S13/14) for way less than the 350Zs go for.

i keep trying to get my friend with a G35 to do an LS1 swap, but he is hell bent on spending 5k on TT and then forging his internals, i keep telling him he is better off with a forged LS1 and TT
