just playing with the idea OK, lets just assume I can get a 427 crate engine with everything to drop in and run it. (yes , I'm dreaming) my question is what do I need to do to my car in order to use it. Like for example the PCM and everything else. I have a 98 Z28 and was wondering if I can do it. The 98 block isn't exactly the most prefered engine block, being the one in 99 on up are better. but this would be the one I would like to put into the car.
Honestly unless your want a dry sump setup and are planning on road racing the LS7 is not a cost effective venture. If you want the cool factor than by all means go for it. If you would like to save alot of money and make even more power you could go with a forged iron 408 or for a hair more a forged LS2 402. These setups have been proven to make 500+rwhp with a good cam and heads package and cost thousands less than a LS7. Not to mention the fact that they would be easier to install as far as electronics go.
