Default Oil level sensor question

If the sensor is not needed are you guys leaving the sensor in or are you welding up the hole. Taking the pan in to next week to be notched. Thanks John

Can do either of those or just plug it w/ a threaded plug. Some have used this hole for oil temp sensors, so I wouldn't weld it shut unless necessary. You might want it down the road for something.

You can get a Help or Doman oil plug that is 20mm x 1.5mm to plug it

Thanks for the info, looks like the best route is to put a threaded plug in. Thanks

Or just leave it... I left mine, with the thought taht some day I might hook it up to one of my dash warning LEDs...

My main thought was...the cast oil pan. God forbid, if I bottomed out on something and it cracked open. That light would come on, and I could shut it down before I go barreling down the road with a dry block. With a regular steel pan, you get a dent...

Not saying its probable...but thats just what my thought was on it.

Justin
