Yeah an LS1 should fit without a problem. A friend of mine put an LS400 V8 in his and it is a bigger in pretty much every dimension than an LSX.

If I wanted a turbo car, I wouldn't be asking about V8 swap now would I?

What year? Is it already RWD? I don't know much about them... I would think a Lexus would be a software/computer nightmare, making everything play nice...

If you put an LS1 in an Altezza it'd rock out. Plenty of torque and you wouldn't have to use any sort of a poweradder to compensate. Add a T56 and that'd be a bad bitch.

i agree on the good power without power adder, but what do you expect from a 3.0lt 6 cyl vs a 5.7 8 cyl.

now THAT is sick, I like he used the wagon-ish chassis too, very utilitarian but its stilll gonna haul @ss.

looks like a great fit with the monster sized toyota motor so the LS1 should fit no problem. now if I could only find an IS300 for cheap then I'd build one too!

I always thought the 1UZFE was a very compact V8...probably one of the smaller ones out there that was mass produced due to the cool head/cam design...

This is a pic of one going into a 70's Corolla and look how much room is left...
This guy has a pretty neat project... http://www.1uzfe.com

Not arguing because I haven't had the two side by side, but I doubt it's much bigger, if at all, than an LS1.
