Has anyone swapped a LS1 into a AE86?
Has anyone swapped a LS1 into a AE86? A buddy of mine is considering doing a LS1 swap in a AE86 coupe. I searched around for him but couldn't find anyone that had done the swap. Figured I would see if any of you guys had heard of a completed swap.

i think it would be over kill on a rolla. like weight balance seems like it would be screwed up. and what do you need that much power in a rolla for? sr, itb'd 4a,4a or a 4agze gets the job done for drifting just fine
I'm all about the 4age, i think the 4age should be NA, and na only.
But after owning 2 ae's and not just drifting em,griping them more. The ls1 ae wouldnt be for drifting, it would only be for drag use. I like to grip more then drift anyway's. But overkill, hell yes. I just wanted to know, becuase id like to build a sleeper that would slay car's. othing more nothing less, i already have the drift/grip car

i turboed a 4A, made 160rwhp at 8psi, on boost by 3000rpm. not bad for a T25
A 'better' swap in many peoples opinions would be the lexus 1UZ, little bit more compact and cheaper to purchase, lighter as well so its better suited to the AE chassis. this is what my friend wants to do after hes done with the 4A-GTE.

That's not bad for a 4age boosted, good #.
Boost just isnt my kinda thing.
And i already had a hand in puting a 1uz in a ae. It's a cool, and fun swap, but it's just not a ls1.
