what is the "stock" HP for a ls1 crate motor? Is'nt it like 400 to the crank?I had it in a book, but cant find it now.Reason being,Im about to put a ls1 6 speed in my s10,But the guy I think will do the harness uses a truck tune(5.3)Wouldnt that kill the Hp??I am going to use the Patriot heads and cam on it.I just dont want to put all that on there and not have it tuned right for all the HP I should have.

Yes thats some nice info, but I have a book(where ever it is) that states a stock ls1 right out of the plastic on to the engine dyno has about 400 to the crank? So thats way off?

It also depends on what standard is used for the dyno test. The standard that GM uses results in less horsepower than the normal aftermarket style test. Most dyno places use the baseline set at 60 degrees F intake air temp and 0 percent humidity, GM tests with a higher air intake temp and more humidity.
