Easiest Way
I used an adapter part # ATM-2268 that worked great. Since I'm keeping my console guages, I bought a tee for my mechanical and electrical guages, part # NOS-16775NOS. Here's a picture of a VDO and Autometer behind the Vortec Manifold with the adapter, I just happened to have both senders from a different project and either one will fit.

Raising this from the dead so if someone else is looking for ONE MORE option. I removed the OE sending unit, broke the plastic top off of it, drilled and tapped the center of it with the 1/8" pipe thread tap, VOILA... my home made adapter. I used my factory oil gauge for my Chevelle so I just got the adapter and line kit from auto-meter and reconnected it.
