Default 95 Cavalier LS1???

Is it possible to fit an LS1 in a 95 Cavalier and if so what about a T56? If not a T56 which transmission would work?? Thanks.

That depends, are you converting it to RWD? If you are the t56 will fit since you will have to cut out the floor and tube frame the car anyway.

Lots of work. You would have to cut the floor out and come up with rear suspension, while your in there you might as well tube frame the car so that you don`t twist it and break windows. At that point it would prettymuch be a tube frame race car, unless you spent a lot of time putting the climate control systems and insulation back in so that it could be a daily driver.

If I was going to go through the work of building a tube frame car it would be a race car that retained just enough lights, wipers, etc. that I could pass it off as being street legal. At that point I wouldn`t be driving it much on the street anyway so I wouldn`t be using a LSx. I would use a SBC because they are cheaper to build up, and I wouldn`t care about fuel mileage or how driveable the motor wold be.

I thought twisting the body was the whole idea? Race cars are only fun if the doors never shut the same way twice. I think that subframe is a great idea, cut the trunk out and drop in one of those "back half" four link kits and you've got a real stormer. The great thing is the insurance company will give you a policy at the grocery getter rates!
Get some coin together and do it!
