Default 2nd gen ls1 camaro

Hey everybody, just wanted to show yall a video of my ongoing project. After many many months of hard work and asking alot of question I finally got her to run. I had some wiring harness trouble so I sent it of to John at Speartech and got it taken care of. That was the smartest thing I could have done. The harness looks excellant, thanks. The car runs great except that I am having and idle problem. It doesnt want to idle at all, you have to keep your foot on the gas. Could it be the idle air controller motor? What yall think? Anywho here is the video. Thanks, Josh

Default headers

The headers are pacesetter 1 3/4" for a 4th gen. We had to do a little heating and bending on the collectors to get them away fromt the frame, but otherwise a great fit. Hope this helps, Josh

Those are 4th gen seats right? How hard was it to get them in there? I was already thinking of trying it.

Default seats

Thanks for the kind words guys. The seat are 4th gen. If i remember correctly the fronts of the brackets bolted right in and the rear had to be redrilled. Hope this helps. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Josh

So is the motor stock w/ headers or have you done anything to it?

Your original thought on the IAC seems correct, my 94 Z/28 LT1 had similar issues and I had to open up the throttle blades a C/H and adjust the IAC.

Hearing yours definatly makes me look forward to getting mine finished (hopefully in 2-3 weeks) but then again living in New England I'm not in a big rush, but then again on a positive spin I'll be doing some simulated 1/4 mile testing when the car is done

Glad you got it going.

Sounds like the IAC is either stuck or bad. You might take it off and see if it's gunked up, or just replace it.

Default motor

The motor has a comp 232/234 cam with ported and polished heads. Its a bone stock 60k mile shortblock. I am leaning towards the iac also. When I took it out the other day you can turn the key on and it will move out. I think it is working but am unsure if it is supposed to retract? Do you know John? Like I said before John, thank you so much. This thing wouldnt be running without you, my hats off to you. I dont have any current pics of the fans or air intake but am happy to answer any questions you might have. Thanks, Josh

I could be wrong, but I dont think its going to run with a cam that size on the stock tune, if thats what your running.

Default tune

You are correct, but it is supposed to have a mail order tune on it. I am gonna get my local tuner to work on it soon.

You can check the IAC by unhooking the battery for a minute or so, hook it back up, turn the key to on, then turn the key off. That should make the IAC do a full reset. Just be sure and put your thumb over the end of the pintle and apply some force, otherwise it will launch it across the room when it does the full extend.

As stated above, that is a pretty big cam and would require some specific idle tuning. Hopefully that was done correctly and you just have a bad IAC.

Default idle

I doubt the idle was tuned. It was a mail order tune. I am sure that is the problem. I am gonna get my guy locally to play with it and get it to run. Otherwise I am totally happy with the way it runs. It screams. You should hsve seen the grim on my face when it lit off. It was great.

If you look on my photobucket webpage there is 1 of the interior. I am using a speartech modified harness. He makes it very simple. The gauge wires are labled and ready to go all you have to do is hook them up to electrical gauges. Then you hook up a 12v ignition and 12v b+ wire and its ready to go. John at speartech takes all the hard work out of it for you. I tried to wire it myself and just couldnt get there. Any more questions feel free to ask. Josh
