Default Corvette Exhaust Manifolds

Was wondering if the stock corvette crate engine exhaust manifolds fit in the first gen f-body with stock frame, stock steering and ATS engine mounts. Checked the sticky and that indicated that 'most' stock exhaust manifolds would fit. Has anyone had any experience with these particular manifolds.
Thanks.

The Vette manifold exit a bit more forward than a F-Body manifold.

I like the early 'Vette "sheet metal manifolds. They tuck in pretty tight.

Fbwright - I think you are better off using the F-Body as they exit on the rear as your stock 1st gen manifolds would.. I think the Vette center exit point might run into the steering link or x-member.. but you should measure your self or have some other 1st guy help.

Stock LS1 perform about the same as Shorty headers, for a stock manifold.. they are not bad. I am still running the 99' Sheet metal ones on my 71 chevelle. I think I will get them coated soon.

Good luck and keep us posted of your project.

If it matters at all, the Vette manifolds will not fot with the F-body motor mounts. YOu must use the Corvette frame stands mounts. Just like in the picture that Oscar Will posted.

Thanks for the info guys. My question was prompted by a couple of articles I read in the Dec 2004/Jan 2005 Car Craft mag. It shows a comparison between the LS1 crate engine exhaust manifolds and a few headers. The Corvette manifolds did not give up much to the headers. The Firebird/Camaro stock manifolds gave up 9 HP to the crate Corvette manifolds. After some more research it looks as though the Corvette manifolds changed quite a bit over the years. The GM crate engine (PN 25534322) shown in the Dec 2004 CC article shows the Corvette manifolds with a angled down, rear facing outlet. These are not the same as those shown in Oscar's photo. They almost look like cast iron shorty headers. Was looking to save a few bucks if I could but I may just go the conversion header route. Car I'm converting is a 69 Firebird.
Thanks again.

Any idea what a set of '02 LS6 headers would be worth? I'm going to be using some LS2 headers in my car and I'll likely be selling the Z06 headers.

Do those look the same on the other side? If so what year are they off of? Thanks,

Jimmy

I am not sure you guys have notice this but these C5 stock manifolds are Stainless steel. They are pretty good stuffs. They are double layers and designed to reduce the underhood temp. They are off the 97 and 98 C5 only I think. I got mine out of a 97 and modified them to fit my swap. I have a few pictures on my sites in my sig if you want to check it out.

Yes you can only use these with the C5 type of mounts.

Jimmy........both sides look the same as you see in the picture I posted, they are off a 1997 Corvette and yes, they only clear the Corvette type motor mounts.
