what all do i need

i am gong to put an LS2 in my 2000 Trans Am and need a completelist of everything i need. ie....intake, flywheel,tb....and stuff like that. alsowilli need an LS2 ecu or can i tune mine wit hp tuners

i thought there was a different amount of teeth things on the thingy on the crank for the timing? no so sure thought.

Depending on the year of your LS2, there are a different number of teeth on the reluctor wheel on the crank. The LS2 is also drive by wire. For all the electronic differences, I suggest you contact John at Speartech. He is very helpful and can tell you what the differences are for sure as he is working with LS1, LS6, LS2, LS7 and all the truck and SUV motors too. I think once you get past the electrical differences it's just an engine change.

O.K. i got most of my questions answered except for the ECU. can use my hptuners to program my ls1 ECU or do i need to get an ls2 ecu.

From what I have read you can use the LS1 PCM if your LS2 has the 24x crank trigger, so your HP Tuners would work. If you get the newer LS2 with a 52x crank trigger you need a LS2 PCM.

First, tell us every detail about your car, and every detail about the LS2 you're installing. (in English)
