thermostat/ waterpump Ok, so I did some work on the 72 on saturday. I ran it quite a bit and noticed that the front seal on the waterpump is leaking severely. What is the cheapest place to buy a reman waterpump from? I am also wanting to put a 160 thermostat in and wanting to know where I can get one from. I seen a while back that there was a replacement available from autozone but cant find it by searching. I know you can buy the hypertech for 50 bucks but I remember seeing one for like 15 or 20. Thermostat usage & price depends upon which waterpump you use.
The later LS2's & 7's use a less expensive thermostat.
Which accessory drive are you using? It will affect your waterpump choices.

waterpump Currently running stock 00 f body accessories with the stock waterpump. Would it be better to upgrade to the later waterpump? If so, what year should I get it for? Thanks for the help, Josh
I have a thermostat and housing that has been modified for approximately 168-170 degrees using the instructions in Christopher Endres book on LS1/LS6 performance. I was planning to use it, but then ended up needing a straight housing instead of the stock angled one. $30 shipped Priority mail if you want it.
