I've seen a Cobra kit car with a Viper motor and it was very tight. I'm pretty sure that the dash was moved rearward and there wasn't much room between the front accessories and the radiator/fan.

just cut the rad support and weld in a piece of square tube like all the FI guys do. You can move the radiator foward or get a custome one.

personally i would do an injected big block if i were you.

I have seen a picture of a viper v10 sitting in the engine bay of a thirdgen. The guy was doing a motor swap and just had the viper motor laying around so he dropped it in out of curiosity. It fit, but there was no room for headers or to get air into the front...the motor literally took every inch of the bay.

You mind if I ask what a good price is on one of them? Just curious, I'll understand if you don't want to answer that though.

I would go with the ls7 before the viper engine as it would be easier to install and you would be just as fast.

Not to mention it would sound 100x better.

The pair was on ebay w/ like 2 days left on a weeklong auction the price had only risen to $1500 but it ended up selling for like $12k

It's been done with a 3rd gen. The owner posted pics of it on Thirdgen.org in the engine swap forum a couple years ago.

If I was going to do it, I'd go all out and boost the crap out of the 8.3L Viper engine.

Don't make fun of the 2.5l 4tec man. Some of us had to drive that everyday.

It's been done before MANY times. But you're looking at a high dollar build, at least. Custom everything. Guys who do this conversion don't skimp on anything. Here's what you'd need to start:
