SC400/300 Mount Kit
I'm looking for someone that makes a mount kit for a SC400/300. Does anyone know? Even mounts for a MK4 Supra. I've been doing some research and nothing so far.
I might have to go the 240sx route, but I would really like to go the lexus route.

With the size of the SC engine bay, I don't see too many problems. Don't worry about finding a "kit". Just get with a local fab shop or somebody who knows what they're doing to help you out along the way.

Nobody makes a kit i bet, but that would be an awsome swap! Also the SC400 comes with a 2uz i think? Whatever it is, its a V8 and there is some good parts for it out there and its a bad *** engine... There is also an adapter kit out there, so you can mate a V160 (2JZ-GTE 6 speed or a R154 MKIII 1JZ and 7MGTE tranny) up to a 2UZ toyota V8 i think.. Or maybe its to mate a T56 up to it, i would have to look.
Hell i think my next swap will be a LSx in a scxxx, thanks for the idea!!

The 400s came with a 1UZ (aluminum block, 6 bolt main) at first and might have come with the 3UZ (also alum) later on in their life.
It would be a great swap. I've been thinking about it for awhile as has my friend who has the fastest SC in the US and another as his daily. Put an auto on it and drive that bitch everywhere.

As far as I know, it's my friend Hal from Louisville, KY. Fastest full bodied SC at least. Yes, he's using a 2JZ and was running low 9's last season with plenty of room for improvement. His fastest pass was on a local 1/8th mile track at the end of the season where he ran a 5.9...usually good for 8's in the 1/4 on any 2J powered car.

Plus the V160 (6 speed TT 2J tranny) is like $2.5-3,000+ for one with like 40k+ miles. Also the 2J you get will have higher miles (40k+)
and will cost you about $3-4,000 for the engine and about $6,000+ for the engine set with the V160,harness,ECU etc.
You will prob end up using a JDM 2J because the USDM ones are hard to find and are very spendy. If you do find one it most likley is in need of a rebuild or has higher miles.
Now if you get the JDM 2J, why not just get a 1J,same power and less $$.
This is a topic that can be argued for days though and thats not what i want, just wanted to state some info.
I come from supras and i love the 2J, its great but the LSx is also awsome, especially for what i want. I want power under the curve and good throttle response. I am sick of turbo lag.
USDM 2J = 320hp
JDM 2J = 280hp
1JZ = 280 hp
LSx = ??? Not sure on the power of each one. I know my LS6 is like 400hp/400tq stock and thats pretty dam good, easy to mod and make power also.
Ok i have to stop i could ramble all day..
I would love to have a SC300 with a LSx.

There are no kits out, and the swap is pretty straight forward. The subframe on the SC inteferes with the oil pan, however, and so a new subframe would have to be made, similar to that of the RX7 swaps. If I knew about wiring (anyone want to teach me?), I could have the swap done asap.
Ranger, if you are really interested in an SC swap, PM me. I have talked to Steve Theodore many times about a potential swap into the SC's big brother.
Edit: If you didn't want to have a new subframe fabricated, you could have a center sump oil pan fabricated, and match the dimensions of the 2jz. This would also cause a problem with firewall/transmission tunnel clearance, as any transmission used with an ls1 is much larger than a v160.
