Default Which motor mount kit for my A-body?

Bought a Lemans finally and now I need a motor mount kit to place my Escalade motor in the frame for mockup. I sent an e-mail to BRP and he got back to me with his price.

Is there anyone else out there that has the motor mounts and frame mounts for the 68-72 GM A-bodies?

Thanks

Look in the sticky for the adapter plate diagrams. I made my own BRP style plates from 1/4" steel. I used the short and wide motor mounts.

BRP, S&P, Hooker, ATS are the major ones.

The template for both the BRP and S&P Style mounts are in the Sticky.. I used them to make my plate from 1/4" steel. I just used normal hand tools to fab them.. (cutting wheels, grinder, a drill and a tap.

Use the Search and Sticky and you will find thing you need to know.. if you have specify question.. ask then.

You can also search on the rest of the A and G-Body usersID (use the Advance search) as you will get more specify info on A-Body swaps... Stealth71 is one, mind is bczee, 72chevelleSS, 72ChevelleConv.ls1. TT402LS1 and many more.

If I bought these, http://carshop.carshopinc.com/produc...id/74328/LS1GM

along with the Energy Suspension mounts they recommend, what else would I need to complete the swap? Just the SB chevy frame mounts?

Those are of the S&P or ATS style.. it is designed to use the stock location of the frame mounts. Oil pan clearance could be a problem.

I'm already planning on notching my crossmember front (A/C) and rear.

Mainly, I'm concerned about what header will fit (I think I'll be using Hookers) and also the driveline angle being correct.

BRP claims with his kit:

Motor mounts 170.00 a pair
Trans Crossmember 185.00
Trans Mount 29.00
Frame brackets 89.00 a pair
Our $459.00 for complete kit plus S & H

The pinion angle is already engineered into the kit (3-5).

But that seems a bit pricey to me and I'd still need to buy the "clamshell" frame mounts for around $90.....

I don't mind spending the extra $ if it's worth it, but I would imagine that most of these kits have got to be built the exact same way.

The pinion angle is most likely determined by the trans crossmember, I would also imagine.

If you dont want to make your headers, and dont want to use manifolds, I would suggest you look into hookers chevelle ls1 swap headers. they require you to use a certain mount but in turn their headers bolt right up and clear everything. i chose to make my own and make my own headers, just for the fact the hookers are in the neighborhood of 600-750
