The cost of admission might be a little higher on a 1st gen Camaro, but you also recover that value if you sell the car later. I'd recommend buying the nicest condition car you can afford, because repairing rust and body work adds up quickly in costs.

you can buy the firebirds alot cheaper than the camaros.i just bought a 69 bird for $2000.just a roller.the car is very solid.one little area in the trunk floor will need replacement but the body is almost perfect.

RrCoX22, since you live in Ca expect to pay a little more. Also thier are deals out thier you just need to really look for them. My first 69 z28 I paid $1000 about 10 years ago.no motor or tranny.
I have picked up 2 other over the years for about 2k-3k. I know deal are out thier especially right now. I almost bought a couple more early this year for 2500 each(rollers)
Keep looking as someone needs the $$$ more than the car.
