4th gen steering column
4th gen steering column anybody put a 4th gen column in a 2nd gen (or anything older) would like to get the vats, cruise, dimmer, wipers working. needs to work with an ls1 and pcm.
will it fit?
does vats need anything other than key and pcm to work?
does cruise need anything other than pcm, brake switch, cable drive to t/b?
dimmer should be easy enough.
wipers i'm not sure whether to leave in dash and replace lever or move to column and redo dash bezel (which would be a pain since its a formula woodgrain bezel)
DOES ANYONE HAVE A STEERING COLUMN WIRING DIAGRAM FOR A 4TH GEN I'VE GOT THE 2ND GEN PRINTS? I MAY BE ABLE TO FIGURE OUT SOME OF THIS MYSELF.

I installed an aftermarket cruise switch in my 78 trans am from Brandon industries. It looks like the 81 cruise lever but has three switches instead of two. You can install autometer gauges in your dash easily. I am using a 5" electronic speedo and tach and 2-1/16" fuel level, volt, water temp, oil pressure, and trans temp gauges. I drew a circle for the tach and speedo on the backside of the dash piece and used a grinder to make the hole larger. There is a picture of gauges installed in an earlier post for 2nd gen gauges. You could also switch the dash piece to the turned aluminum one from a trans am. If you want one send me a message. I have the dash and the piece for the climate control.
