Default Do I have the wrong Harmonic Balancer?

Engine: 2004 Corvette LS1
Serpintine Pulley set: March Performance

I don't have a belt for my serpintine system yet, and I am a little confused.

I put the water pump cover on tonight, and I notice that it appears that the harmonic balancer is quite a bit back from being in alignment with the water pump. See picture:

You can see the slot for the belt in teh bottom of the water pump cover, and it is not at all in alignment with the harmonic balancer.

What do you think?

Looks like a stock LS1 harmonic balencer to me. The back little grove is for the AC only if that is what you are looking at?

Here is a pic of mine

If that is a corvette balancer it looks like you need an f-body balancer to mate up to
that pulley set-up.

You are right. I just called March, and they told me I need an F-Body dampner. Interesting, as their picture on their marketing page shows a Corvette engine. Well, Corvett covers anyway.

Doing this with a Corvette engine has required changing several things. Sigh...

Sorry......

Some of us are going the other way (truck engine to C5 accessories) and it isn't any easier.

Yeah, this is just part of the fun. I swapped an LS6 into my '90 silverado and I
had to swap over to the truck setup. Luckily I had a donor 5.3L that I pulled
everything off of. Just stay with it, it's worth it when you're done.

Thanks. A local graphics artist. He does good work.

And, actually, an airbrush is used for highlights, but it was done in yellow and white gold leaf.

Thanks for the interest. Honestly, I haven't been taking many pictures of the project. But I do have pics on my Web Site that you can see the body, interior, and browse to pictures of the original build back in 1983(although the pics are poor). I have 10 min video of the 1983 build (Link at top of the 1983 page). I doubt anyone wants to watch that.

I do have a short video on the main Kruiser page showing the boost gauge and getting to hear the blower kick in...on the engine I pulled out to put in the LS1.

By the way, the two main picturues you will first see, you will notice the car is white on the back half on one, and more tan on the other. The Tan is the current color (same as the color on my intake on teh LS1 above).

Hmmm...I seriously need to update my web site...but the car comes first!

If you want a stock f-body balancer shoot me a PM. I just put an underdrive on mine and have the stocker laying around taking up space.
