Weight of Aluminum BBC VS LS2
Weight of Aluminum BBC VS LS2 I am trying to contrast using an all aluminum BBC VS a stroker LS2 for a customer, does anyone know what the aluminum BBC motors weigh? I'm talking long block weight or even with accesories...
The shipping weight of a zz502 is 795 pounds. Take away 50 for the crate and save another 100 with an aluminum block. I would say that an all aluminum bbc, with intake and carb is about 625-650. The LS2 is going to be about 400 pounds with intake and throttle body. These are not concrete numbers. Just my educated guesses.

Well first gen, your 911 motor weighed 535.
An ls1 weighs 459 lbs with all of the accesories.
An Ls2 weighs 437 lbs fully spec'd.
In my 964 i dropped all of the accessories except for the alternator and picked up an electric water pump so i'm sitting around 420.
Not quite sure about the aluminum bbc. I know it won't fit in the back of your 911. The pulley's hit your rear cross-member and motormounts.

I never said I was looking to put a BBC in my 911? If you read my first post, I said it was for a customers car (69 Camaro). I know what the LS1/LS2/LS6 weighs. Was looking for weight of aluminum BBC motors.
