Trans x-member, depending on what trans you are going to use. Mods to the fuel and cooling systems.. A/C?

Check out Hanks 3rd Gen web site. they have everything you need or they can help.

Someone needs to learn to use the search button.
Read the stickies here and on thirdgen.org (motorswap/lsx/ltx section)

Then search both sites for things that are not clear.

Then come and ask generic questions ;-)

edit: ...and take the plunge, you will thank yourself later

BTW... "Cheap" and "LS1 swap into a thirdgen" dont usually go together. But I guess that depends on your definition of cheap...

And definetly do some more research. There is more than enough info on this site as well as thirdgen.org to do an LS1 swap with your eyes closed.

I stand firm in my belief that getting a donor car is the way to go. Because not only will you find a ton of stuff on the donor car that you can use, but you can sell off what you dont and make some dough.

Im at around $10-$15 grand...But I re-did the whole car. Suspension and all...

Yeah, I would agree with the donor car deal....I would have went that way but I decided I wanted all new parts so I bought a crate motor and T56.....that added alot to my cost.

I am still under $10,000 with the price of the car. Being a machinist and having a welder has helped out a lot, built my own headers and all mounts. I have more in my carb, intake and ign. box than I did my 6.0L long block. I have more time than money so i was able to wait on deals. Depending on your time line and condition of the car when you start the project you can have a running driving 3rd gen LS1 swap for $10-$12 grand. I think it was worth every penny.
