the 5.3 will bolt up to any LSX or tuck motor Flywheel. The crank is already drilled for a pilot bearing too.

5.3 will work? ive looked into it alot because im unable to use the lsx clutch because of the 26spline. 4.8L v8 and the 6.0L flywheels will work with the ls1, not so sure about 5.3L. i went to a salvage yard today to buy mine, there computer shows only the 4.8 and 6.0 have the same flywheel- nothing else

What transmission will you be using? All you may have to do is have a clutch maker like Spec or Ram make you a special dish that fits in a stock LS1 clutch but uses whatever spline your transmission has.

So all you need is a clutch disk with 1 1/8" 10 spline.

The reason the junk yard only shows the 4.8 and the 6.0 having the same flywheel is they are the only trck motors that came with a manual trans the 5.3 only had an auto behind it.

Keep in mind, 4.8 & 6.0 from '99-'00 used a different flywheel than from '01 on. The crank stuck out of the block the same amount as a SBC in those years. The 5.3, '01 on 4.8 & 6.0, and all LSx engines have a crack stick out that is .400" less than a SBC.

I've got a Richmond behind a 6.0, but was looking to keep a 10 spline muncie originally.
Any LS1 flywheel will bolt up.
For a 10 spline disk, check out aftermarket clutch manufacturers. I found 1 that lists the same PN for 26 spline BBC disk and LS disk. They also list a 10 spline disk that works with the BBC pressure plate. That 10 spline should work with the LS pressure plate.
