Is there a site that I can find 3.5 inch and 4.0 inch tubing and ells so that I can fabricate my own cold air system?
Thanks,
Wade

Ditto. Intakehose.com I still have to make mine fit or am looking at carbon fiber custom made one. Not much room.

I was wondering the same thing recently and saw some posts about intakehoses.com. The only problem I've run into is I plan to run 4" intake tubing and I would rather weld everything up instead of a jumble of angled rubber connectors and straight piping. They stock aluminized 4" mandrel bends (not easy to track down) and 4" aluminum straight piping, but no aluminized or mild steel. Does anyone have a source for 4" aluminized or mild steel straight piping? All of the local shops Ive called that deal with cars refer me to big rig shops since they don't use 4" tubing and all of the big rig shops say to call car shops because it's too small for big rigs. I need a few feet to make my dual 3" to single 4" y-pipe as well, so I figured a 10' stick should give me plenty to spare.

Another vote for intakehoses.com . I got everything but the filter and grommet for the IAT from them. Good prices and the stuff came fast... But that airflo site listed above is good too. Would be my 2nd choice. I couldnt seem to find what I wanted at that jags website.

You can get exhaust tubing from Jegs. It's heavy, though.

This is one of the suppliers we use at work. They can bend 4" tubing for you. We use 4" od 1.65mm wall thickness steel tube.

If you're making a cold air intake, there are only 3 materials I would recommend...

1)Titanium (light, strong, beautiful, but too much $$)
2)Aluminum (light, not bad looking, relatively cheap)
3)Carbon Fiber (light, good looking, but too much $$ and trouble)

Aluminized is ****, but powdercoated mild steel would be ok, just waaay too heavy. Hell, I'd use stainless over these two.

Reasonable prices on aluminum bends...

I have a 4" 68 degree elbow and a 4" 22 degree elbow and a long section of 4" aluminum tubing with some constant torque clamps left from my installation. If anyone is interested send an email to jeff_dauderman@yahoo.com. It was hard to find these angle pieces.

Do you know of any writeups to work with carbon fiber tubing by chance? I did a quick search and found some writeups where a guy made a CF bike frames at home that had some pretty good info, but couldn't find anything about making tubing. I was thinking you could make a disposable mandrel out of something easily workable that you can buy in tube form (styrofoam from a hobby store possibly). Piece them all together til you get the shape you are after and then lay up the CF around it. After it cures you could either melt the core out with solvent (assuming the CF resin didn't eat it already) or burn it out and you would have a nice all CF tube that fit perfectly.

BTW, sorry for hijacking your thread midnight1957.
