Great looking ride. The stance is perfect, especially from the rear...you nailed it

Thanks for the compliment. I will agree, stance is the most important thing on a car.

They are stock that have had a coil and a half cut. I know its not the best way to do it, but I want to put tubular control arms and aftermarket spindles along with a good set of spring on it later. The rears are stock. The wheels are boyds jyd.

hey man nothing wrong with cutting spring its cheap and efective. as far as the rears did you put lowering blocks on them or are they just the originals and sagging alot.

The rears are bone stock no blocks or anything. They came from a 77 z28 so that might have a little to do with them being a little low. Plus 30 years hard use, lol.

Great looking car. Wish mine looked that good, but then I might worry more about taking it to the track days ...

For those of you thinking of putting 315s on your un-tubbed 2nd gen, be aware that you can squeeze the tire between a rolled fender lip and the leaf spring with careful backspace measurements, but the outside corner of the tire will still rub on the inner fender liner over serious bumps, or cornering hard. As the tire moves up into the fender well, the fender slopes inward toward the top, and contacts the corner of the tire.

The tire doesn't get cut, but it does get pretty rubbed up. Speaking from experience

I'm now down to 295s, which don't have any issues so far ...

Damn! I want an LS1 in my '70. Scratch that, make it an LS2 or LS7. Any second gen LS7 swaps out there? Here's a link to my '70. The car has since been lowerd about 1.5"-2" in the back to level it out. I just haven't had the time to reshoot it.

It made a night and day difference. I'd have to thank the girlfriend for the springs though, she got tired of hearing me say I'm going to buy them and just went out and bought them for me.

1st and foremost.........NICE!!

As a side note, what aftermarket spindles are you looking at...i've been searching 4 some 4 my 73 Buick Century...which shares most of the 2nd gen F-bodies front suspension.

Summit sells and aftermarket set, I forgot the brand offhand, I will look it up and let you know. I think they go for around 285 a pair.

Good, I checked into those. Sent the company an email. Have yet to get any real tech on them.
Did they allow 4 stock brakes? Or aftermarket kits intended 4 stock spindles?
R U happy w the quality?
Do you have any pics?
Any 1st hand info on them would be great. I trust your judgement...cause your car is so tasteful!!

Thanks in advance...sorry to hyjack.

I am not using the spindles. I have stock ones on it now, I want to go with those spindles later when I change control arms and such. I dont really know of anyone using them or the quality. Thanks for the kind words on my car.
