5.3 in a 73 truck what problems will run into, i am actully going to get the while motor and tranny with ecm, and does any know if you can wire the tow haul mode to work?

I think there should be a few swaps like this already, you should be able to find them with a search. I am not very familiar with this particular swap, but you will have the common problems of getting an EFI fuel tank, fuel lines, motor mounts, shifter linkage, cutting the driveshaft, etc.
You can wire in the tow/haul mode, but I think it requires you to reprogram the computer for it. I had jesse at wait4meperformance reprogram my computer and he asked if I wanted the tow/haul mode. He said I just had to provide a momentary ground to pin72 of the blue connector. I don`t know if/what he had to do to the PCM to make that work. There is a tow/haul mode thread if you do a search.

i read a thread on ls1truck, the guy had problems running the passenger side manifold and took a chunk out of his frame. so might want to look for F body manifolds or headers to not have to cut your frame.

I read a thread a while ago talking about different years of 5.3 and their fuel systems and I can't seem to find it , can any of you guys help me out. the motor is out of a 2000 suburban, the thread was about regulators and return lines.
some problems i had today ..... Just doing my 86 ..... today actually ... ill post with pictures soem problems i had with mounting the engine in a new post,
Engine mounts were about 1/2 low on each side ---- fix - redrill holes
Trans mount is low and too far back ----- fix- move mount forward and 3/4 inch metal plate as a spacer
Driveshaft is too short right now ---- new one in a few weeks
trans goes right with it i used Hughes spacer (i have curved flexplate)...... ill get the numbers later works great!
