Default carb progress

Spring got to me. So i got the Monte out and finished some odds and ends this week. I had to cut down an offset air cleaner base and the cut 1/2" out of the air filter to get it to fit. I made the breather with a pepboys push in breather for 12 bucks and the cut off end of a fill tube. A little filing and it fit right in. Added relays for the fan and fuel pump to get that load off the key switch. The classic title final came, still waiting on tags. And there's a G Force crossmember waiting for me in the trunk. It'll actually have taken me a year to do this... anyway a pic from today..

I've driven it around the "block" with 8" stubs off the manifolds. It starts real easy. Idle was alot easier to find with the air cleaner and the number 1 chip. Yes, edelbrock manifold and 650. It's what edelbrock recommends for street performance..
I got this 200r4 that's non lock-up. Shifts a little harder then I'd like. but, i'm not used to it. And the kick down needs adjusted. My tag came today. and the Gforce cross member is still in the trunk. I'll soon find out if it's streetable.
On a side note the alternator and new belt sat all winter and picked the charge right up on a jump. Then I got a new battery. the other one i got the day i got the car, 7 years ago. Pics, I'll put one up. It's a grey 87 with a grey bench and column shift. Factory wheels.

Nice Monte!

Makes me jealous since my car hasn't moved in a few months, however
my stroker LQ4 will soon be sitting between the rails.

Update 3/26 ! I got the G force cross member in. Perfect fit. Perfect.
I did that yesterday and played hookie today.. first time in 2 years or so.. and welded up the exhaust system. 2 and 1/4 from the flanges to the tailpipe exit.. then the moment came. I started it, warmed it up a little and took it for a 5 mile spin.. I love it.
the kick down isn't right yet, so it stays in 3rd when you floor it.. talk about pulling..
the exhaust tone is wild.. if not a little obnoxious when the fours open.. think I'll test drive it to work.. a short 7 miles..
