Before you change the reluctor wheel check with the MFG of whatever timing control you are planning on using. I thought that in one of the magazines they were using an aftermarket timing control that was designed for a GENIII on an LS2 and they found out that by changing the wiring slightly it was compatible with the newer crank and cam sensors.

I remember reading something about that too, that was before msd came out with a controller for the ls2. So far, if I build a lq9 block with a ls2 crank (58x) I'll need to treat the build up as a gen III but get a gen IV ignition module because of the ls2 crank and 58x reluctor wheel! right? I thought the crank sensors were in different positions from gen III to gen IV! or is it the cam sensors that I'm thinking about?
