Default Hard Mount People

People using hard mounts how do you like it?

I've always understood it would "rattle your fillings out".

How does it feel driving the car if you wanted it to be a daily driven car also?

I daily drive a 1996 Mustang GT with solid motor mounts. Your car will rattle, that's for sure. But it's not like you're sitting in a big metal vibrating *****. Perhaps more like sitting in an old diesel.

It's perfectly liveable as long as you don't expect stuff not to rattle or hum or vibrate in the car.

Hmm Kind of interesting to hear.

I don't really have any noises my car makes right now except a door panel squeeks just because I'm missing a brace that is supposed to stop it.

But I'm kind of worried about finding out a lot of noises if I was to go to a hard mount style when I swap the LS1 into my 240sx.

I'm not expecting it to drive like a new car or anything near it but I definitely want to still be able to take like a girl in it and them not be like

I'm not concerned with the hard mounting of my LS2 T-56 combo in my Miata.
It's just part of building a car around an engine, mine's a track toy to be occassionally driven on the street.

slightly off topic but is hard "mounting" the same as using motor plates or is it somthing else?

what are the advantages of using hard mounts?

solid metal from motor to chassis....no rubber.
One advantage is that it makes engine mounts less complicated.

I believe you lose less torque to the wheels also since the engine doesn't torque all over like a soft mount. But don't qoute me I'm not positive

so a solid mount is just that, a solid metal motor mount? ...not a motor plate?

honestly compared to fwd its nothing. ive been in several solid mount FR cars and it doesnt even begin to bother me nearly as much as the many FF cars ive been in.

one thing that they all tend to do regardless of chassis is cause glass to be hard to see. i/e review and back glass are hard to see out of sometimes.

Be careful with Aluminum block you might vibrate the threads out of the block. I know I've pulled steel bolts out of aluminum and taken the treads with it. LQ's should not be a problem just the LS blocks
