well, its been a while since i gave an update on my build. because i have been working on my car alot. i have a big chunk of the car done. i upgraded turbos from a mpt70 to a borg warner s400. here is some comparison pics of the two. the s400 weighs 45 lbs!!!!!

i have all the fuel system done. have the intercooler mounted. motor is wired up, power windows work, headlights work, battery kill switch done, radiator and fan setup done, i dont know probally more

ordered all the turbo plumbing the other day, but it will be a few days before i get it cause they didnt have the 5" in stock for the down pipe.

i have to pull the motor back out tommorrow and put the gaskets back on everything and put the converter in and i will pe ready to put some fuel in it and fire it up. woo hooo, cant wait.

im going to try and get the dzus fasteners on the hood this week too. im running a stock cobra hood, but couldnt find a pin on version so i made my own. took a bolt on and cut the bottom skin off of it and cleaned it up. its going to work great i think. have tons of clearance on the truck altenator and the tb elbow. im makeing my own elbow out of a 1/2 inch carb spacer and some aluminum. paid out all the money for a nice tig, need to use it. lol

it fits for me. im using a cobra hood.i would say with a cowl hood it would be ok too. a cobra hood has a little bulg in the middle. it still has probally 2 inches left.

looks sick! what are you doing for the turbo mounting? Did you fab up a mounting plate/bracket and weld or bolt it to the chassis where it sits? Curious because I'm probably going to run that same turbo and know I will be breaking things if I just let it hang on the hotside rather than brace it.

Thanks -
