I thought about the weight issue. I don't have a Iron block LSX to weigh to compare, but I'm betting it won't be to bad. Chassis will definately have to be strong, especially with alot of Banks mods. I'm in the early stages IMO, but have done alot of research thus far.
It helps to have a Duramax and Allison in the garage aswell.

maybe a car company will get smart and introduce a fullsize car with a huge diesel motor in it.

They ran it on bio-diesel too!
As far as weight goes, I think the Duramax's power compensates for that.
I've thought about the 4L80 E, I'm going to see if the Allison will come close when the time comes. Again, Looking for a Camaro body right now. When the right one comes along, I'll ****** it up and begin.
I've seen Iron blocks in F-bodies not make much difference, although I don't have one. So if someone does and would like to shed some light on handling differences, please do. Where are you seeing the major weight coming from? The tranny may be an issue, but toward the center of the car, I'm hoping not a large one.
I have also been thinking about a Chevelle, and not ruling it out by any means. I'll see when I pick up a 4th gen F-body. If it doesn't look possible in testing, maybe I'll pick up a Chevelle. But I have a feeling it will fit with some help. Plus, it would just be cool. As far as smoking, a cat and Banks will handle that.
