$3800, 2002 ls1/t56, 50k miles. w/ harness (complete and uncut), drive shaft, pcm and a short throw shifter. local junkyard.

05 all alluminum 310 hp 5.3 with 12k and a 06 4l60 with 2k including wiring ,computer ,all accessories and the 05 fuel pump assembly all for $2,200 in 3/06 all from my local salvage guy. I do get a bit of a discount for all of the business my family does with him.

I bought my 4.8 off ebay from LKQ (ebay name "lkqonline"). They are a pretty well known national junkyard chain.

I got my 99 LS1/A4 from a guy off ebay and paid $2500 for complete engine, trans, harness and computer. The guy is in orlando and I drove 5 hours to pick it up. He buys cars at insurance auctions and then parts them out. He always seems to have LS1's, LS2, and LS6's. Just got it running in my 96 blazer and runs like a champ, good oil pressure and all.

friend and i picked up his motor 2002 ss ls1 with t56 22k miles complete harness and all for 2600, a 98 camaro motor ls1 with t56 comeplete 45k miles for 2900, and a 2002 ws6 engine and t56 with everything for 1500 with 61k miles.... motors running hard!!! all bought from craigslist local in bay area.

I bought my 5.3 which they told me was a 2000, but It is a wire TB, any the hold complete thing, wiring, ECU, foot pedal, tach module, all the crap on the front of the motor, even battery cables, stock intake, plus heater and radiator hoses. 1550 shipped. oh even the OBDII port

I have 2k In my low miles '99 vette LS1 and ssr T-56 with only 2 miles on it. Also go MAF, harness, PCM, gas pedal, manifold, and a bunch of other randoms

$4400 to my door for an '06 LQ9/4L65e incl. PCM, ETC, Harnesses, and all accessories (Starter, alt, A/C, etc.) with 500mi.

Got it from Schram on eBay. I had a part missing and Schram made good on it several months later. (No charge for the part and they paid the shipping) That kind of integrity is priceless!

I paid $1800 for a 60k LQ4, 4L80E, and transfer case, complete with all acc., and harness, no pcm ( that cost me $130 tuned ). Seemed like a pretty good deal.

Bought an wrecked 05 GTO 6spd, 9K miles for $4300, the guy at the salvage yard laughed at me. Selling extra parts on Ebay. I'm down to about $1700 for the engine,trans,harness,brakes and hope to just about break even and then make money when I sell the 1970 LT1 (non-original) in my car. Alot of work, but who's laughing now. Learned alot from this forum, my harness is at Speartech and I hope to start the swap next month.

i paid $2500 for a 2000 ls1 with a 4l60e in the indy, IN area. Have the 4l60 for sale pm me. then bought a rebuilt t56 for $900. not too bad but a week later i found a ls1 engine, pcm, wiring, acc. in chicago for $1500. so i could have had a nice ls1/t56 set up for 2400. i saw a 04 gto ls1/t56 go for 2025$ on ebay before, they guy listed it wrong. o well just keep looking and you'll find a good deal.

Another vote for Shramm. I bought my 2005 5.3 with <100 miles for 2300, delivered to close to my door, with all accessories and pcm, harness... Looked brand new and started instantly. First time on the road yesterday.

$750 for my first LT1/4L60 + Harness & PCM, 5 years ago

$250 for Vortec 8100, dropped in and had it running for under $800 total project cost

$150 for a 6.0L and a blown 5.3L 6.0L in and running for about $1300 total project cost. Had to reassemble the 6.0L, new rings, bearings, gaskets etc.

$1200 for a 1995 LT1 + T56 with 102k miles, built (forged) stroker 383 out of it, total project cost after 383 rebuild was about $3500.

Latest Grab, $0 for 5.3L and 4L60E. $65 for PCM and $0 for harness.
Traded harness work for a 5.3L engine and helped with lt1 swap for the 4l60e. Bought pcm on ebay, and traded two cut up 5.3 truck harnesses for programming a PCM. Total project cost so far is about $600.00 Engine is still on the stand waiting to go in my 1967 Pickup. Total TIME invested, a bunch.

the 8100 & first 5.3 & 6.0 I bought from a GM Dealership service manager. he didn't know they were worth more on the net. The 1995 lt1+t56 was an ebay auction that stated PICKUP only, i drove 4 hours to get it.

$2,700 complete shipped for 01 motor with suppose 27k. mi. Looked like low miles inside the motor. Got it from Ebay 2 years ago. Found a T56 local for $850 and gambled on it being good, and it was.

WTF! I have never heard of that and I am in the Bay area. My budy just picked complete 01 with t56 deal for 2k but the guy just did not care and it was sold in hours.
