Default Engine Numbers and what they mean?

Hey everyone, I am new to the forum and have a few questions about the LS1. My father just purchased a 2001 LS1 and 4L60E transmission out of a Z28. We plan on putting it in his 91 S-10. If I give you guys some numbers off of the block and transmission can you verify that the motor is what the guy said it was, and what the HP and torque numbers were for that year?
Thanks

Sure, with some numbers and physical features, it's not hard to pin down what it is.

The good clues are:

Intake manifold casting number.
Cylinder head 3 digit ID.
Exhaust manifold material.
Injector part number.
Four digit tag on transmission.

John,
Thanks for the quick reply. You mentioned a 3 digit cylinder head ID the numbers we got off of there had more than 3 digits. Or am I just reading it wrong?

It's a raised number directly above the end exhaust manifold bolt. It is the last 3 numbers from the casting number that you would see with the valve cover off.

For a 2001 Camaro engine, you should see:

Intake manifold: 12561184
Cylinder head ID: 241
Exhaust manifold: cast iron
Injector: 12561462 (280155931)
4L60E: 1FFD
