Ever heard of this ebay seller? I am considering buying an engine from Schram Auto Parts. Has anyone here had any experience with these guys? I'm a little skittish about buying my engine on ebay; anybody ever done that?

Personally I wouldn't chance it, unless i could see/hear the engine running. Not knocking that seller, just generally buying stuff you havn't seen working who knows what you may get, reconditions instead of new, they may call it 'new' because it looks like 'new' when it could have been a factory reject.
I would rather spend the money with one of the sponsers.

I've read a lot of positive feedback from some of their buyers on this forum... Do a search if you haven't already...
I bought my engine off ebay, from lkqonline. They're a nation wide junkyard, supposedly they test all their engines before they are pulled, and they garentee them to run. I didn't really care if mine ran or not, since I plan on building it up/rebuilding it anyway... Including shipping from Florida to Oregon my engine cost me about $357 if I remember right.

Schram's rec - satisfied w/ my 5.3 I got my 5.3 w/ 4l60e (13 mi) from Schram's two years ago; it's in my '58 Apache: I just fired it up two days ago. Ran at first crank. It came with everything advertised, arrived well packed and complete. Since then I've got a set of leather seats from '04 Silverado from them. Exactly as advertised. So I totally recommend these guys. I worked with Reed, who impressed me as a straight up guy.

Add my thumbs up. Bought my 5.3,harness,computer with all accessories<100miles advertised. When I got the engine, it was plastic wrapped on a pallet. It looked brand new. No damage whatsover. It started the first time after preoiling. Fired right up, idled high and settled down into nice smooth idle. I plan on ordering my next engine and tranny from them. They have a good websight also, follow their e-bay link.

They are local to me, and have a really good rep around here. I have not purchased anything from them off ebay, but they are one of the biggest GM salvage yards in MI. No one that I know of that has worked with them has had a bad transaction.
