LT1 M6 to Truck LS Engine Conversion?

Default LT1 M6 to Truck LS Engine Conversion?

What all has to be changed on a 4.8/5.3/6.0L to run it in a stock front clipped 95 TA with a 6 speed. Some one stole a ton of my LT1 parts while the motor was apart for a spun bearing. I know I will have to get an F body LS1 oil pan, ls1 k member, and ls1 manifolds. Can I run the truck intake with the stock hood? What about with a hole in it ? How about the truck accesories can I just buy new brackets or do I need new every thing? Also my tranny a clutch? I have a new LT1 SPEC Stage 3 in the car now.

Also wondering what I shound do on my wiring and computer. Either tuned stock ECM w/ Megasquirt or how hard would it be to put the LS1 gauge cluster in my car? Would i have to change the dash wiring also?

I'm not sure about all the wiring questions, but I do know that the LT1 tranny will not work and the truck intake will not clear the cowl. You can use the actual transmission if you change the bellhousing, front cover, and the input shaft. You also have to use an LS1 flywheel and clutch setup.

Just buy an LS1 your going to need the accesories and intake anyway.....I'm pretty sure anyway. Clearance will Definately be an issue.

-Truck manifold won't clear the hood.

-You'll need an LS1 steering rack w/linkage.

-Need new front drive accessory mounts.

-Water pump is different on the trucks from Fbody (sticks out further IIRC).

-You'll need to figure out the fuel system for a dead-headed type.

-You can splice the truck engine harness into your existing chassis, or have Speartech do it for you.

-Convert your T56 to an LS1 style, or sell it and buy a LS1 style trans. Make sure the crank end on the truck engine has a provision for a manual trans input bushing/bearing.

That's all I can think of at the moment.....
