Default F-body Intake on LQ9

Anybody running an F-body intake manifold on an LQ9 or other truck motor? What have you done about the water pump/radiator hose clearance issue?

Most of the truck guys swap to full f-body accessories when doing the intake swap. This is what I had planned when I was going to do this on my old truck.

I'll confirm what he said... the water pump needs to be changed out to F-body style. Not sure if the F-body water pump will work with the truck accessories so you might HAVE to swap out the entire setup.

It will work but u have to bend the tube some and trim some off
heat it a bit and bend with big pliers.

you can just pull the outlet tube out of the waterpump using pliers. does anyone make a slide-in replacement that is better shaped? i'm using an LS1 in my truck with a LQ* oil pan, and i'm having a hell of a fight getting a clean look with the radiator return hose and the intake. i'm using an aftermarket polished truck intake (off to pass. side of engine bay) and an flexible billet radiator hose. it works, but it's just too clutterred looking in IMHO. i almost wish the LS1 water pump had an outlet that would go straight up or something....

Agree with G-Body. All you need is the F-body pulley and the Speartech tensioner.

is the water outlet on the truck water pump the same diameter as the water outlet on the cars? In other words, could you pull the water outlet bib out of a truck water pump and put it in the car water pump, and vice-versa?

Cut it off with about 1.5 inches of straight tube left in the pump. Then just run a section of hose that goes up straight as high as you need to go. You might have to spend some time looking through hoses at car parts places, but oh well, thats conversions.
