2nd Time Conversion
History: Was my dads truck. From the factory it was a 4.3L 5-speed. At 274,XXX miles and after a few transmissions my dad decided to convert it to a V8. We pulled the V6 5-speed and built a TBI 355ci, with 700R4. After driving that past 300,XXX miles, dad decided to get something else. Thats when I inherited the truck.
I drove that for a couple years and kept having trouble out of the 700R4. December 2005 was towed home from Corpus Christi, Tx with broken transmission at 387,XXX miles. Haven't drove it since. I decided it was time for more power.
Since I've owned it: I installed Hotchkis TVS 2/4 Kit, energy suspension bushings, including cab mounts, power slot rotors, russell steel braided brake lines, upper and lower ball joints, and POR-15 the frame.
So now its time to upgrade the power train: From salvage yard, 2003 iron block 6.0L out of Express Van 43,000 miles supposedly. 2004 GTO 6-speed trans, front seats, flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, and shifter ****. 11k miles 6 month warranty w/ no core charge. (on the trans) I've also bought the L92 heads and L76 intake with the 90mm throttle body.
The engine is going to be stock short block, with heads, cam, and intake.
I do have a question though. Since I'm running the L76 intake which has the LS2 90mm throttle body. Do I have to run a LS2 computer, wiring harness, throttle pedal, and TAC module to be compatible with it? OR will another computer setup work? I know most likely the crankshaft reluctor wheel, and position sensor will have to be swapped. I also know that the LS2 has the cam and crank sensors at the front of the engine, and knock sensors on the side of the block. Lengthening and shortening of the harness is no problem. If I end up using the LS2 harness, is this going to effect connector compatibility with coil harness, MAF sensor, alternator, etc....
Anyway here are some pics. More too come!!!

I knew it was only be a matter of time before someone commented about those exact items.
Should have just simply removed the wiper arms.
I will give Speartech a call come Monday. I was trying to find a Viper truck to look at the shifter length and throw of the stock shifter, but haven't had much luck. I'm sure the Viper truck trans is hard to find as well as expensive. I got the GTO trans for $1500

Yeah your right the viper truck trans is probably really hard to find but I think B&M sells a short throw shifter for it. The GTO shifter is probably going to be too low to the floor and hard to reach in a truck application and the output shaft flange is euro style where you would need a guibo bushing as appoosed to a regular yoke but I'm sure you could fab something up. This is a swap I've always wanted to do (LSX/T56 in a truck).

Yea the GTO yoke is set up for a flex disc, which is the same thing Mercedes-Benz uses.
