It's been done. Go to TriFive.com. Painless Performance makes a complete wiring harness for it. We have a 1955 BelAir, and have done alot of research on it.

Even when you are being frugal, and recycling as many parts as you can, these swaps will set your wallet back a bit. Just weigh the advantages/disadvantages of every new part or solution you order. Some swappers can save a bit of cash by modifying a stock tank for the pump (or an external pump), modifying the harness themselves, adapting a factory available radiator (instead of a $1K aluminum setup). If you are a decent welder/fabricator, there are many little solution you can take care of for free or real close to it. Choose which solution you want to buy carefully, and you should come out alright in the end cashwise. The hard part is keeping yourself from ordering a bunch of speed-goodies. It is real easy to convince yourself that you may as well do it since you are in there.... That syndrome added about $4K to our project.
