94 Z-28 Conversion

I've come across a great deal for a high milage 94 Z. I'm considering gutting it and putting in an 87 Turbo Buick drivetrain. I'm looking for information on what is required for the transplant. I was inquiring on this board if anyone had tried this before. I'm hoping this wont lead to me getting flamed on, but it's a project I'm considering on doing. Thanks.

Probably won't find a lot of help with that swap here. Not baggin' on the idea, but this forum is really dedicated to the Gen II architecture engines. You can make soem series power with the Gen III, without breaking the bank, and without giving up drivability and fuel economy. Would drop right into your 94 engine bay without a lot of problems as well. Just a thought.

Sounds like a cool swap. I was actually going to do the same with mine until I found that I could not make the T56 work.

No 6 Speed, I'll look for a different engine.

It has been done before. I saw one in GM High Tech Performance magazine about 6 years ago. As mentioned before though, this site is more dedicated to the LSx engines. Good luck with the swap if you decide to go with it.

I believe you may have bought some used parts off me a long time ago, possibly off the CZ28.com site..? I see that you're doing/done an LS swap also.

I know it has been done, like Mikey 97Z M6 said there was one in GM High Tech performance mag. I know he mentioned something about the exhaust manifolds from the buick not fitting well, but I don`t remember much else.
