Any ideas how to hook up TH400 tranny to cable driven speedometer?
I am trying to figure out how to hook up my TH400 transmission to my factory in-dash gauge cluster cable driven speedometer in my 90 LX Mustang.
I am running all the factory gauge cluster gauges from factory senders and a tach adapter for the tach, but havent found a way to connect the speedometer cable to the TH400 transmission

The TH400 should hook right up, it is a mechanical gear driven cable. Are you sure you don't mean a 4L60E? If so, use your Speed output from the computer and get a cabl-X. Set the Cable-X for 4000, and hook the supplied 3' mechanical speedo cable up to your gauge. It is a pretty decent solution for $300. You can also look at several vendors that will sell you a modified tailshaft for the 60E that has a VSS and a speedo gear output. Look to run between $450 and $700.

Yes...its a mikes ultimate th400 vasco shafted unit with a brake behind a turbo LSx in a foxbody....
Trying to get the factory speedo to work.
I actually thought th400's were electrically ran speedos...didnt realize they were cable driven. I'll have to shop around to see who has the parts.
