It's a Filter/Regulator off of a 1999 and up Vette.

OK so is there really a pressure regulator in there or is it just a filter that also has an internal tee to feed signal back to the regulator in the tank? My donor '02 Z28 has(d) a single in and out on the filter, out of the filter there is a tee that sends some back to the tank (I'm assuming they wanted filtered fuel to the regulator is why they did this?) and the rest goes on to feed the engine. The Vette filter would help eliminate this external tee and clean things up but is it compatible with the unmodified stock f-body in-tank regulator (I'm using the Z28 tank in my swap)? In other words can you just use the vette filter without modifying the tank/regulator/anything and get rid of the external tee?

Thanks
Cameron

yes the 97 vette fuel rail is like your lt1 as it has a feed, return at the fuel rail and uses the same type of fuel lines.. so yes it would work however! the fuel rail it's self is in the ball park of 200.00 up then you need the fuel regulator which it does not come with. I think thats another 100.00 maybe less. now the real kicker last I checked the 97 fuel rail was on back order. so now you have about 300.00 in a fuel rail that may need replacing if you buy an intake it won't fit. or you can buy the much cheaper fuel filter and be done with it.

fuel rail is gm # 12556705 list is $339.52
fuel regulator is gm # 12554677 list is $87.58

now I would bet your local dealer will sell these for less than list but I still see paying around 300.00 GM parts direct maybe cheaper yet but they do charge alot for shipping which takes all the savings back out..... so again not really worth it IMO

Yea I know the fuel rail is expensivce but I am not sure how to do it the other way. I am kinda stupid on this subject and I kinda need to see what it would look like the other way or have it explained in very simple terms for dumb people like me

3 russell Fittings for the 2 ports on the pump assembly and 1 for the fuel rail..
6 -6an hose fittings
1 russell fuel filter

ran the main feed from the tank to a -6an T ran 1 line off the T back the the tank for the FPR, and the other one went to the fuel filter and on to the rail... all in all it was about $175 - $200

If you can pull off a LS1 swap, your not dumb. Yes, the 97 Vette fuel rail with a built in reg will work and plug right into your current LT1 fule lines. Problem is they are rare and outragously expensive used. People who have them know we want them. I tried to find one for awhile and gave up when the ones I found were overpriced. I ended up using the 98-04 Vette filter/regulator combo shown in the pics. I used the lines from the donnor car I had and the only expense was for the filter.

ok cool so I can just get a filter/regulator combo and what do I do with the return line? Also do you know the part number off of the filter/regulator? So I put that filter/regulator on and only 2 lines go from that to the fuel rail right?

Ok guys I am reayd to do the fuel and I am totally lost. I have a filter/regulator off a 2000 vette. I want to run one line to the engine bay correct?? I noticed on my bros TA there were 2 lines to the engine bay and one went to the front if the intake. Do I need to use that 2nd line? Also there are 3 lines coming out of my lt1 tank and they all 3 went to the front on my lt1. I know the feed goes to the filter/regulator but what about the other 2? I really appreciate your guys help on this! I know I sound kinda dumb but for some reason the fuel system has me stumped haha. Thanks again for the help

There are 3 lines on your LT1 tank, feed, return and EVAP. IIRC there should be 1 3/8" feed line and 2 5/16 lines, one of those is the return and one is a evaporative emissions line, unfortunately I don`t know how to tell you which is the return and which is the EVAP.

The line that you saw going to the front of your brothers intake was probably the EVAP line. You don`t NEED to use the EVAP line, but that is how the fuel tank vents, if you leave it open to atmosphere the car will run but you may get a gasoline smell since that is usually vented into the intake and burned.

I have heard that you can vent the tank by the hgas filler neck somehow?? Not sure if that is true. If so all I would need is one line running to the engine bay correct? Then plug my feed line and return into the 2000 vette filter/regulator
