72 Blazer LS1/4L60E Swap
72 Blazer LS1/4L60E Swap I had planned on doing a LS1 swap in my TJ but got a can't miss deal on a 72 K5 Blazer 4x4. That means the 72 is now going to receive the swap. Any tips/links for a swap like this? Any info will be much appreciated.

Re: 72 Blazer LS1/4L60E Swap I have a 68 chevy 2wd pickup that I'm almost done with the conversion. I used my existing 700R4 and everything fit perfectly with the stock location. You can get motor mount adapter plate from Street and Performance or you can make you own. This allows you to bolt the stock chevy mounts to the engine. I didn't use these because the corvette manifolds did not clear the stock frame mounts. I took the stock corvette mounts and modified them(took 22 degrees out and 1/4 height off) then found a very good tig welder guy to mend them back together. This allowed me to use the corvette aluminum mounts and rubber mounts and they bolted directly into my crossmember. Then my manifolds bolted right up. the corvette accessories(not using the AC) cleared everything like it was designed for a 68 chevy.
I tried my hardest to use the stock corvette oil pan but it was too close to my crossmember. You might be able to get it to work if you can move the engine farther back in you chassis. I would have done this but didn't want the engine too close to my firewall. I bought a camaro oil pan from S&P and it seemed like it was made for a 68 chevy.
