Default MSD 6010 Question about MAP sensor

I'm running the MSD 6010 controller, but my intake manifold wasn't tapped for the MAP sensor. Can I just run some hose from the MAP sensor to the fitting on the baseplate of my carb? Will it get the same signal? I know normally the brake booster goes to that, but can I just hook that to the 3/8" fitting above #7 cylinder? Will my brakes still work the same? Thanks.

What intake are you running? If it's the Victoe Jr, it is supposed to have an 1/8" NPT hole on the passenger side just below the carb. If it doesn't have it, you would be better off to remove the intake and drill and tap the hole.

My Intake wasnt tapped for the map either. I called edelbrock and they said it shouldnt have left there shop with out being tapped. I asked them to swap my intake for one that was tapped. They said sure but first we need to check the intakes we have here in the shipping department have the hole for the map, they didnt so you probably got one out of the same batch as mine. I sent my intake back they sent me a new one and paid all the shipping.

Yeah, I got the victor jr. I emailed edelbrock and they said the same - should be there on the passenger side. They told me they would only pay for labor and return shipping. But I think I'll just go get it tapped here at a local shop. I was just hoping to get away with hooking it up some other way. Thanks ya'll.

Yeah, the install is really easy. I should be ready to turn it on next week when I get my new headers.

Yeah, I got it running, but it's pretty disappointing. What did you hear about the cam sensor? I'd like to know more about that....maybe that's why my truck runs like crap???

well, i don't know much but a guy was telling me about his horror stories. He mentioned something about some of the cam sensors were 12 volt and some were 6 volt. He ended up returning his unit in frustration. I notice MSD makes 2 boxes.... One is Black and says LS1/LS6 and the other is Red and says 6LS (thats what i have). I'm getting nervous about this... I'll update you as i know more.
