4L80E Range switches, remove them?

4L80E Range switches, remove them? Can it be done in a stand alone swap or do i need to keep them? I'm working on the harness right now and need some insight. Thanks.

The other function of the box on the side of the trans is to send signals to the PCM that lights up the the "P R N D L" on the instrument cluster. You won't need any of that for a swap.
