ECM location, GM A body '68 cutlass
I'll be ordering a wiring harness for my LS1 / 4L60E to drop into my '68 cutlass.
I'm wondering where others have placed the computer.
I'm thinking under the passenger seat might be best. I'm thinking I could flatten the wire harness a bit and get it under the carpet.
Is 5' harness length about right? This would be as measured from the back side of the passenger head.
Help please!

Engine compartment is the best place, that's where it's made to be.
No room you say, then behind the glove box(who actually put's glove's in there?), which sometimes needs shortening, under the seat is also an option. However when you move it inside the car you must have holes big enough to put the connectors through and then seal it up some how. Pretty much your choice from the limitations envolved with your particular car.
If you decide inside, then measure everything 2 or 3 times! Use a string for the length measurement.

For my 71 chevelle...
I mounted it on top of the Trans tunnel with a Console that I built (gauge, idiot light, clock, etc). I as able to unwrap my stock harness and reroute it, wrap it backup.. so 5' extra will make it to under the seat.
Other places have been under the right fender and in weekwell, in front of the heater box; behind the glove box; or around the radio; passenger kick panel.
