You want GM cruise control on your cable driven TB
#21
the drive by wire is totally controled through the PCM and TAC module. it is simple enough to hook up. nothing needed for an already working drive by wire setup (well just wire in the stalk switch)
just follow the schematic for the year you have and enjoy
BTW attached is a 2003 silverado 5.3 CC schematic

once all this is hooked up......is there a right way to test the cruise control ?
I dont want to be getting on the highway , engage the cruise and it not disengage for some reason. Can a safty switch be added somewhere in the circut ?
Thanks

I really need to find some time to clean up the original post I made so it's a little simpler... when I get time I guess.
anyway you can always put a switch inline to power or even the third brake light input (resistored path) so you can cut that and it will shut right off. these are setup so you really won't have a problem with it staying on... you can go 25mph in most cases to engage the system (no need for the hwy)
I belive if I remember correctly you can mash the brake and once the mph drops a specific amount and throttle req. it shuts off (15mph for several seconds? or something like that it kicks back out since it can't maintain the desired speed)
thanks guys I just need to spend some time editing it

I'm installing a L92/4L60E with 4th gen bird dash and C5 column(w/switches) and would like to keep the cruise control and DBW.
As far as I know, the L92 does not use a cruise module, so do I need a stock pcm for it to work? I have the stock harness, but it didn't come with the pcm or pedal.
Thanks,Joe

Thanks for quick response.
I'm currently looking at the GMPP harness kit with pedal and OE pcm. Just trying to find out if it can be reflashed to run cruise or if it does already have the ability. Dealer was not very helpful.
Would much rather stay with DBW & OE style pcm.
Thanks, Joe

You know, I'm wondering if a cruise unit from a 94-97 f-body might work
I pulled two during my last trip to the junkyard and they looked just like the one I snagged off a later model 4.3 blazer. I didn't check on the pin H though
might be another source for them, thats all

Put a 5.3 in a 99 dbw v6 car. The new motor is cable drive, and I have everything else working great minus the cruise. Can someone get me the wiring diagrams off of a 99 v6 camaro for the multi funtion lever?
I have the box mounted I just dont know where to tap into all these wires at.

Hi, I'm doing an ls1 swap into an 86 monte, and am looking to run cruise control. What I have is a PCM and wiring from a 99 camaro. Does this mean I can get the 99 cruise module and it will get the right signal from my pcm?

Dang GM keeps changing stuff up. I think if you used a truck PCM/TAC module then you could have cruise control. I have the GM performance retrofit kit with the LS2 small computer and was told the TAC module is built into it. Its a shame someone couldn't figure out how to make it work. I would pay $2-300 to get it on my car.

This info helped me out a TON. I didn't have working cruise on my 2000 Z28. After replacing the cruise module and still nothing. I went back and checked with a scan tool and for some reason I'm not getting the cruise enable signal. The wiring is good, so it has to be in the PCM. I swapped the module off my 99 GMC Suburban and CRUISE YEAH! So, now I need a new module for my GMC and we can add cruise number 25169208 to the list off modules that work without the enable signal. They are ALOT cheaper than another PCM and another custom tune, although I suspect the tune (A4- M6) is why the cruise won't work. Thanks, Formula350
