69 camaro disc brake conversion HELP!?!

69 camaro disc brake conversion HELP!?! I know there are donor cars people talk about that you can convert over to fit on your car for the disc brake conversion but not for sure on which cars they are. I am looking at a 91 Camaro or the other is an 82 or 83 Camaro to take off there brake system and put on my 69 Camaro. But, not sure if these cars fit in the donor catagory. Any help would be greatly appreciated before I invest in the systems. THANKS
The cars you are looking at will not work. You have a rear steer car and they are front steer. Any X body (Nova) from 68-73, (68-72)Chevelle spindles work if you use your steering arms. Buy new spindles and just go get 1972 Chevelle rotors, calipers, bearings, seals, pads, hoses from your local auto parts store.
There is a way to modify the drum brake spindles. You need to cut the top boss where the anchor bolt threads into .60. Get a shorter new bolt and your done. I did this on my 69 Firebird. If you aren't comfortable cutting the spindles just buy new ones.

Or, use 1998-2002 Z28 12" rotor and aluminum calipers. Cut the same boss down and buy the conversion brackets off eBay. Better brakes,easier, cheaper. I did the fronts for $150.00.
a couple questions, what is the exact meas to cut down the spindle boss-i have a couple sets for drums, thought about just cutting them down

page down about 1/4th the way read about the 12" LS1 Camaro brakes. Rich Hoag I think is his name. The brackets are $60.00 a pair. The discs and calipers cost me 101.00 shipped to my house on an eBay auction.

You can use both the front and rear brakes plus the mastercylinder from the 91 Camaro using the instructions on Pozzi's site. You'll find some info on my site as well.
The calipers to look for is the PBR, they was on the C4 Vette too.
