Default Multi-swap & s10 Front suspension rebuild

I tend stop at the auto-wrecker and pick through everyone's unwanted junk way too much. God bless my wife
For my S10 platform, I'm swapping in a LR4 as well an older truck body. My donor truck ('91 S10 Longbed) has worn suspension and steering parts. Is there a place that sells the whole shootin match? Better yet, I've considered stripping a late model 2wd S10 at the wreckers because of the improved brakes, but I'm not sure about mounting points for the A-arms, etc. At some point, I imagine the parts stopped being compatible. Here is my project: http://www.enzoco.com/mike/truck/part3p3.htm
Any front suspension info would be most appreciated.
The wreckers don't really know any of the interchange stuff, unless it is in the book.

You left out where you are located.

All late model 2WD S10 parts will bolt to this frame.

Try to find a low mileage truck that hasn't had too many winters and canabalize the suspension parts you need. A couple of years ago I installed front dual piston brakes from a 2000 Blazer onto my 97 Blazer 5.7. They helped. I also used the take off Bilstein shocks from the later truck and an Extreme quick steering box.

I used PST polygraphite to rebuild my 94 Sonoma's suspension. It works flawlessly.

you have a good option if you want ot swap in upgraded stuff on the front of the car. the mid 80's g body (monte carlo and grand prix ect.) have swappable a-arm's and the whole shooting match. I did a tall spindle conversion whitch helped a lot on handling. also put on c5 vette brake's couple companies make the part's to do this. if you swap in tall spindle's you need tall spindle a arm's which can be found on some of the mid 70's car's. I used a fully ajustableable global west upper and a spohn lower for my conversion though but I have over a grand in just a arm's.I can't rember for sure but I think 73+ chevelles had tall spindles.

Thanks Dogger, does anyone know if a G-Body swap would push the front wheels outward a little? The old truck body has slightly wider front fenders than the S10 did. Not really a big deal, but it would be a plus in this case.

You could always use some 1"-2" billet spacers for this.

I'm sure you've seen this site: http://www.ad-engineering.com/

He used spacers on his project:

Keep in mind that you can use the 4x4 rear axle assembly if you need to. It's 2" wider than the 2WD unit.

The G-body parts will work. We've been swapping S10/Monte carlo parts onto our Monza's and Vega's for years. Attached is an interchange list from V8Monza that shows a lot of the parts that swap. http://www.v8monza.com/5LugList.htm

I actually run S10 2" drop spindles with Monte rotors and calipers on my Monza.

The later model two wheel drive blazers have the dual piston calipers with a sealed hub and seperate rotor. You can upgrade that with vette brakes pretty easy.

Interesting project, should be a nice ride when all said and done, and something you won't pull up next to at every stop light.
