Default A few LS1 fuel system questions

Will this filter work ok for my ls1 swap? It will be with a walbro pump and aeromotive regulator. Will it work ok under high pressure? Will it work better before or after the pump?
By the way....whats the best fitting to go from -6 aluminum tubing to braided hose?? Link??
The walbro pump came with slip on/clamp fittings with copper washers. Does earls make AN style fittings for this. I would like to hard line as much as I can. Thanks.

Out of all those views someone has to have an answer or two. I need to install the filter today. Post up if you know any of this stuff....this is my first LS1. Many hot rods and customs but never a LS1. Thanks

Personally looks like a real cheap POS to me....


Only thing different about the LS1 than other EFI motors is the increased pressure.... Looks like that one is right on the edge of being safe ratings wise.

Of course, you'll need to calculate the gallons per minute to make sure it will flow enough to support the BSFC of your motor. That's the key.

This is what is says under applications listing.

Universal Yes
Fuel Type Gasoline
Fuel Delivery Carburetor

I would not use it. They list it for carb use so I assume it isn't recomended for high pressure.

Except down at the bottom it says max 75 psi....


But the GPM is the number you need to worry about..

I used this one. The one you listed had a micron rating of 85. That is more of a screen instead of a filter.

Looks like the old Carter fuel filters that everyone used to use back in the day... Untill everyone figured out they were restrictive for drag racing duty...

Be OK for street duty. No GPM rating listed...

85 micron is too big for injection. You need 40 micron or smaller. here is an explanation of micron sizes. Scroll down the page a little.

i am doing the same thing. i went from the braided fuel lines that come off my fuel rail to an alum. hard line. i went to napa auto parts( if you have one) and they ordered athe fittings that go from the braided fuel line with the o ring to the an fitting. worked great. i also had the same fittings on my pump and he had conversion fittings for that too. after it was all said and done i think i spent close to 100 just in fittings, the alum fuel line was the cheapest thing. i also purchased a double flaring tool to flare the tubing $60

How do most of you go from hard to braided? Is there one fitting that connects -6 aluminum to 3/8 braided. The local parts store and summit tells me it is 3 separate fittings. One on the aluminum, one on the braided and a union to put them together. That seems over complicated. http://www.holley.com/840106ERL.asp
The local speed shop got me this one but they say it is not a popular fitting. Is there something I am missing? Is this the fitting, combined with a flare-nut-sleeve, to connect to my stock lines coming from my tank? Thanks

the answer is you don't do that. You should use -6AN braided lines instead of 3/8.

On a side note, you really shouldn't be using aluminum for hard lines due to fatigue problems--use stainless.
